Characteristic Symptoms:
 
Phosphorous deficiency marks leaves with reddish-purple, particularly on young plants.
   
Stunting of affected plants may sometimes occur.
   
Conditions for Disease Development:
 
Phosphorus deficiency symptoms often occur as young plants are exposed to good growing conditions following cool and often wet conditions.
   
Management and Control:
