Causal Agent: 

Fungus (Pseudocercospora fuligena)

Characteristic Symptoms:
 
The disease affects the leaves, petioles and stem.
   
Spots on the upper leaf surface are pale yellow and indistinct.
   
Under high humidity conditions, mass of dark brown to black spores can be observed on the lower leaf surface.
   
Heavily infected plants are blighted in appearance.
   
Management and Control:
 
Remove infected plants from the field and avoid planting new tomato plants while diseased plants remain nearby.
   
Avoid dense planting.
   
Preventive application of chemical fungicides (mancozeb+copper hydroxide, chlorothalonil, difenoconazole).
   
Early detection will help reduce the number of fungicide sprays that may need to be applied.
   
 Preventive application of chemical fungicides such as mancozeb (e.g. Attain M-80Ⓡ, Achem Mancozeb 80 WPⓇ, Micron 80 WOⓇ, VanzebⓇ), chlorothalonil (e.g. Daconil®, Agronil®, Yoda®, Rover®, Yoda 500Ⓡ), copper hydroxide (e.g.  FunguranⓇ, KocideⓇ, Hydroxide superⓇ) or difenoconazole (e.g. ScoreⓇ, MontanaⓇ, PursueⓇ, BashⓇ).
