If fruits do not abort and continue to develop, they are often misshapen with poor seed production. | |
Conditions for Disease Development | |
Poor pollination is commonly observed at temperatures above 32C and during cool and cloudy weather. | |
Management and Control: | |
Avoid insecticide application during pollination period.

Avoid planting melon during hot times of the year. | |
Avoid excessive nitrogen fertilization in order to promote blossom formation and minimize vegetative growth.
