Drooping of leaves, reversible wilting of plants, small and soft fruits are usually observed on melon suffering from soil moisture stress.

   
Conditions for Disease Development
 
Drought injury is more common in light, sandy soils with low moisture-retention capacity.
   
Management and Control:
 
Incorporate organic matter to improve moisture retention.
